Masten Gregory was in a class of his own at Karlskoga where a small field contended the Kanonloppet. From sixth on the grid he stormed to the front and won in a commanding way. Carel was not in that kind of form. He qualified eighth from ten entrants and came in last in the race. Nevertheless he earned some prize money because last meant he was sixth due to a couple of retirements.
At the front of the race a battle raged between Hill's BRM and Gurney's 8-cylinder Porsche, while Clark stormed through the field after he stalled his Lotus at the start. He got as high up as fourth, but Hill won in front of Surtees and Gurney.
